Lock Pin
by richard on Mar.29, 2010, under The Office
Home security screen doors are designed to let you enjoy the feeling of fresh air, and cool breezes in summer, while maintaining the safety and security of a conventional locked door. But do they do the job? Many home security screen doors are easily compromised by a few swift kicks so it pays to do your homework when considering buying one.
While all doors provide some form of security barrier, just because a product is marketed as a home security product it does not mean it is. In fact, when it comes to home security many doors marketed as “home security screens” fall way short of security industry standards. A point well noted by the National Security Screens Association (NSSA) and the Australian Security Industry Association Limited.
So how do you pick a good home security screen door from a bad one? What do you need to look for in a good security screen door?
When purchasing a home security screen door there are several features of the door which need to be considered including the materials the door frames are made from, grille strength, mesh type, the number of hinges and the locking devise used.
From a professional security perspective a proper home security door should be constructed of heat – strengthened (tempered) aluminum or galvanized and powder coated steel. Not only are these doors stronger, they also offer greater protection against rust and corrosion, which results from extended exposure to the weather. Double-check the door to make sure it has reinforced corners and that the corner joins are fully welded to the door.
Preferably the home security screen door should have three or more hinges with fixed hinge pins that cannot be removed. For added protection make sure your home security door hinges are recessed, this will minimize the gap between the door and the frame making the door more difficult to jimmy.
The home security screen door should have stainless steel mesh and be attached to the door frame using either stainless steel screws or Pac clamps. The ideal home security mesh is either marine grade 316 mesh or 304-grade mesh. There are several mesh grades available on the market so check the strength rating to make sure it is at least equivalent to the 316 or 304 grade mesh. Users of the different grades of mesh will argue over which is stronger, but apply the above check and you can not go wrong.
Similarly proponents of both methods of securing the mesh to the door argue that their system is superior to the other however both do a great job. The real thing to look for to ensure your home security door is strong is the number of clamps or rivets attaching the mesh to the door. While in most cases you cannot see these, the specific door manufacturer should be able to give you the construction information as most reputable home security screen manufacturers pride themselves on their product specs.
A further feature of a proper home security screen door is a solid grille. The grill should be at least 7mm thick and be joined at all joins by welds. A solid grill is only good if it is well secured to the security door frame. A good indicator of strength is to look at whether the grill has been riveted on or welded, with welding being the stronger alternative.
The final consideration is the home security door lock. A proper home security door lock should have a five pin cylinder or equivalent and be key operated. To add strength to the overall strength of the home security door I recommend a door with a three point lock. The three point home security door lock makes it extremely difficult to rip the door from its hinges while also spreading the load of the force applied by the person attempting to break through the door.
Home security screen doors are an important piece of your overall home security system and are your front line defense against would be intruders. If considering home security screens make sure you check all the features of the product as a weakness in one area of construction n can have a significant impact on both your personal safety and the protection of your valuables.

Notes Desk
by richard on Mar.28, 2010, under The Office
Desk pads are one of the most popular ways to show your individuality at work without cluttering up your workspace. Since most desk protector pads and blotters are multifunctional they offer a great mix of function and style at an affordable price. Whether you are looking for a blotter, calendar or just something to keep your desktop from getting scuffed, there are plenty of different desk pads for you.
Calendar Pads
Desk pad calendars are popular with just about everyone from teachers and students to office workers and secretaries. These desk blotters offer style and function for just a few dollars which makes them affordable enough that they can be a part of the office budget or your personal budget.
Calendar style desk pads usually offer a full month long calendar view for scheduling as well as an extra section for special notes about ongoing appointments or projects. They come in lined or unlined styles as well as plain white backgrounds, multicolored designs or even with your favorite cartoon characters as decorations.
Protective Blotters
If you prefer to stay away from desk calendars and just need a way to keep your desk top safe from scuffs and scratches, a desk protector pad or blotter is the best choice. A standard desk blotter will usually be around 24 inches by 36 inches in size which provides ample room you to comfortably do your written paperwork on.
Protective pads are available in various colors of plastic, vinyl and even leather styles with or without side padding, so finding a blotter to match your existing office decor should be a simple task. Many also feature side panels for storing notes or business cards that need to be easily accessed.
Fashionable Desk Blotters
Some of the most fashionable pads on the market are made of leather. While a leather desk pad is a more significant investment than vinyl blotters or paper calendars, these types of desk blotters offer a chic and stylish touch for executive desks. They make a great gift for for business people who spend a significant amount of time with customers at their desks, or for collegiate types. There are also a wide variety of fake leather styles available for those who want the look of a leather desk pad without the cost.
It doesn’t matter what you do for a living, or whether anyone sees your desk or not – having a desk pad or blotter is a great way to keep your furniture safe. Replacing a desk is never fun and investing in a desk blotter, even an inexpensive one, is a great way to keep your desk in tip top shape while adding a bit of style to it as well. From business people to professors to home bodies who like to jot things down while on the computer, there’s no reason not to keep your desk pristine with any one of the available types of desk pads.

Accessible Symbol
by richard on Mar.28, 2010, under The Office

Indonesia is almost like a vast continent of Islands spanning a greater distance than Europe. A nation of Islands, languages, cultures and religions that is one of South-East Asia’s true melting points. And this nation of over 227 Million people have a culture of communicating with each other by speaking, rather than by emailing.
Aside from the symbols of daily life in Indonesia – the street food stall. There is a new symbol in 21st century Indonesia, the mobile phone store, and phone credit stall – Selling anything from cheap mobile phones to pre-paid credit to mobile phone users.
Then there are the “pimp your phone” stalls, found everywhere in street markets to sophisticated stalls in air-conditioned Malls. Phone users can buy anything from mp3’s to customized casing for their phone. Indonesians express themselves through their phones, and this expression has create employment and business, for over a million people.
From the simple Cigarette stand owner, who has diversified into selling pre-paid phone credits, and numbers, to the mobile phone retailers, who seem to take up sometimes whole floors in a Mall.
Why are Mobile Phones so important to Indonesians?
When the Indonesian Government de-regulated the telecommunications market in Indonesia- What was once a luxury, became accessible for people, needing to communicate cheaply with their families, and friends, who often live all over Indonesia.
De-regulation also created over twelve new mobile phone providers. Providers that competed in a free market, where the cost of calls and sms’s continued to decrease- simply because of the intense competition.
Phones became more sophisticated, and trendy. They were affordable to most Indonesians, and in a country were lobbying is important- essential to business.
People began switching phones as technology advanced, and hundreds of manufacturers from Nokia to Huawei entered the market.
Many made deals with local telephone providers. Huawei linked with one mobile phone provider to create a service linked to making cheap landline calls, across this vast nation of Islands. A cheap phone, plus an inexpensive phone provider meant a booming business for both companies.
Others have turned more sophisticated offering cheap internet services, linked with more heavyweight phone manufacturers like Nokia, and the “creme de la creme”of phone producers – Blackberry.
Internet-based websites like Facebook.com, and yahoo.com work with some providers to offer instant access to the websites, and services. Others provide inexpensive overseas mobile phone services- aimed at loved ones either studying or living overseas.
Mobile Phones have become an essential part of Indonesian life, and the business has created much needed employment in a young country, with no real social assistance programs. Even a street vendor, can hawk mobile phone numbers, casing, and even trinkets to personalize a phone.
In 21st Century Indonesia, a mobile phone user can often call for free, anywhere in the country , or even get hundreds of free sms’s. Whilst the phone itself has become a status symbol, were with such an array of competition, the vast majority of Indonesians, now own and use a mobile phone.
De-regulation and true free enterprise can work as long as the service offered is truly beneficial to people. Many people may laugh at the often faddish nature of Indonesian mobile phone usage, but it has created a bridge for loved ones to communicate, new business, and above all employment.

Adhesive Transfer
by richard on Mar.27, 2010, under The Office

What formula should I use?
When adhesive tape is pulled from a dispenser, the detached tape acquires a positive charge and the remaining tape in the dispenser acquires a negative charge. if the tape pulled from the dispenser has 0.14uC of charge per centimeter, what length of tape must be pulled to transfer 1.8 x 10^13 electrons to the remaining tape?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
We use qT = n*qe where qT is the total charge n the number of electrons and qe the charge of an electron. So n = qT/qe = 0.14×10^-6/1.60×10^-19 = 8.75×10^11 electrons per cm
To have 1.8×10^13 electron you would need 1.8×10^13/8.75×10^11 = 20.6cm of tape

Lead Pointer
by richard on Mar.27, 2010, under The Office

In a game that held 10 lead changes and 6 ties, clearly both Teams wanted this win. USC just wanted it more.
Securing a sixth seed in the Pac-10 tournament, University of Calfornia beat Oregan state, 68-52, on March seventh at Galen Center. USC finished the regular season with a 14-2 record at home. Oregon came into the contest on a three game losing streak, and having only won six of the last 11, while The Trojans have won eight of their last nine games.
“It feels like it’s been three months,” said USC coach Tim Floyd.
Daniel Hackett provided 17 points for the win, Taj Gibson had 14 points and 5 blocks. Demar DeRozan added 16 to the overall score.
Both defenses played hard. The Trojans held OSU to 14 points in the first half, but Oregon only allowed them a 4 point lead going into the half. According to sportingnews.com, the Trojans matched a season low in points scored in the first half and simultaneously held an opponent to a season low.
“We’re still trying to become a good team,” Floyd said. “I think it was important that we started learning how to win again. I think it’s important how we won: by defending.”
After Lathen Wallace scored a crucial three pointer, the Beavers pulled ahead 30-29 with 13:56 left on the clock, but for the next 10 minutes the Beavers were unable to score a single point. Seth Tarver added 16 points over the course of the game and sank two from the charity line after a foul from Leonard Washington to break the no point streak.
“USC is a very talented team,” Oregon coach Craig Robinson said. “At least two of those guys are pros and will play in the NBA and at least two more will play either in the NBA or Europe.”
Three of Gibson’s five blocks came during that 10 minute stretch. “We just moved the ball well and guys got open looks,” forward Taj Gibson said.
“Taj had a real impact on the game defensively,” Floyd said. “He was able to cure a lot of ills for us by altering a lot of shots.”
Derozan added 6 points to a 21-4 run that put The Trojans ahead 50-34. Terrence Green sank a three pointer with 10 seconds left.
USC took the lead after Hacket scored two treys and a key jumper with 13:09 left in the game, and the Beavers never recovered.
Both teams had over 10 turnovers, but USC made up for it, going 34-25 in rebounds.
Statistically speaking, the game was over with 2:22 left on the clock and USC leading with 13 points with 32 seconds left on the clock.
In the end, USC scored 50 points in the second half, and held Oregan to 39.2 percent shooting the entire game.
“It’s just great to see a senior get their shot on senior night,” Hackett said.

Crown Crossover

Making sure that you are fully equipped with your pickup truck not only include a basic toolbox, but should also add in a lumber rack. This can help you to carry the larger items and can provide you with a different set of options for your tools. Knowing the different types of lumber racks for easier hauling on your pick up truck and adding in the specific components that can help you to get a custom fit for carrying can then lead you to different options for hauling, carrying and enjoying the most out of a mobile toolbox.
The first set of characteristics to look for in a lumber rack is based on specific builds that are divided according to where you want to place your toolbox. For instance, a top mounted option is available for those that want to have the placement in the back carrying area. With this, you will be able to carry larger tools and can combine this with larger areas that are able to provide compartments for different tools. You can also mount a lumber rack on the side or as a crossover. The side option will usually be smaller for your tools and the crossover is used specifically for pickup trucks that come with a cover, meaning you won’t have to bolt or screw in the rack to the side of the truck.
Along with these components of a lumber rack are different materials that are used for the best use. Plastic is one of the most popular options, especially with thicker and more durable options. You can also find aluminum, which can provide more durability and a stronger option for carrying devices. You can also look into steel, which will provide options for heavier use for your tools and are often available specifically for professionals.
When looking for a Lumber Rack be sure to list your requirements and check out these racks.
The specific options that are available through a lumber rack can help you to get the most from your toolbox while helping you to enjoy even more for your carrying needs. Understanding which options are available and adding in specific preferences from material, brand and design can help you to get the most out of your carrying needs while providing you with more options for your tools.

Drug Rep

Over the last few years, I’ve helped hundreds of people successfully land jobs as pharmaceutical representatives. But there’s still work to be done! If I’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that some people learn differently than others. It is said that the great inventor Thomas Edison failed nearly 25,000 times before he created the battery. When asked what he thought of all his failures he replied, “I haven’t failed. Over the last 20 years I’ve learned 25,000 ways NOT to make a battery.”
So, in the spirit of Thomas Edison, I bring to you, 5 ways NOT to get hired as pharmaceutical sales representative.
1. Send your resumé hopelessly off into the neverland that we call the Internet.
Before you go ballistic and tell me that job sites work, hear me out. Job sites do work. Sometimes. The majority of all jobs, however, especially pharmaceutical sales jobs, are filled through referrals. If you want to give online submissions a shot, go ahead. If you really want to make strides toward getting a pharma sales job, spend your time networking and get a referral from a current drug rep or district manager.
2. Be a scrooge about self improvement and promotion materials.
Are you listening? The pharmaceutical industry is rather infamous for its ability to create kick-butt marketing campaigns that generate results. Make no mistake, your job search is a full on, all out, high intensity marketing campaign. The product is you. Pharma companies create awesome campaigns because they aren’t afraid to spend a little money to generate maximum results. Be reasonable about how much you can (and should) spend while looking for a job as a pharma rep, but don’t be so darned determined to do it for free! Spend some money on a book or two to improve your interview skills, to learn a little bit about companies you might be interviewing with, or on a professionally written resume. Consider it an investment in your career. After all, why wouldn’t you spend $300 bucks to make $50,000 – year after year after year (plus bonuses)?
3. Be a liar
You want to prevent yourself from getting any job? Just lie. The pharma industry is under intense scrutiny from consumer watchdog groups and the federal government. They don’t need a liar to complicate what, in many cases, is already a delicate relationship. Be honest, be yourself, work hard, mind your P’S and Q’S and you’ll be fine. There’s no need to be a liar.
4. Don’t prepare for the interview
It’s not a stretch to say that a pharmaceutical sales interview is one of the toughest, most competitive interviews you will ever face. There are a boatload of other people out there Jonesing for the same job you want. And they want it BAD. If you don’t prepare for your interview, they will beat you. Study the industry. Study the company. Review common interview questions. Most importantly, know yourself and know your [from the heart] answers to those interview questions backwards, forwards, and in your sleep.
5. Don’t follow up with your contacts
We’ve already discussed how important networking is in this search. What’s more important than knowing someone who is in a position to help you? Being able to remind that person of his/her ability to help you and encouraging him/her to do so! Practice saying this to everyone you talk to about business. “OK John, I’ll check in with you in a few weeks to see if you need anything else from me?” It’s low key. It’s low pressure. But it gives you a reason to follow up with your contacts and hold them accountable for any action you’ve requested on their part.
There probably are 24,999 ways not to get hired as a pharmaceutical sales representative, but these should get you off to a good start!
Ryan Stewart has coached hundreds to pharma sales success (and he’s done it all for free). To jump-start your pharmaceutical sales career go to pharmaceutical-sales-representative.com

Duplicate Inventory

Choosing the right software for your school or district is an important task. From tracking and managing student data to communicating with parents and faculty to simplifying day-to-day responsibilities for staff, your software will be the foundation for your operations. To spend more time focusing on students and less time behind a desk, look for these seven must-have features in your school administration software package:
- Streamline class and activity registration for added convenience to both students and administrators with online registration and credit card processing. Through online registration, you can achieve quantifiable time savings and remove teachers from the money collection process, while making it more convenient than ever for parents and students to register for camps, sports activities, school functions and more. Online registration modules securely process, track and report the flow of money as it enters the school and empowers parents and students to set up online accounts to view, track and update personal information, alleviating the need to call the school with questions of balances due, payment histories and class registration statuses.
- Simplify and automate bookkeeping processes and reporting with student fund accounting software. Choose a software vendor that provides an iron clad audit trail of revenue, expenditures, transfers and adjustments for all student activity accounts. From receipts to reports, your student fund accounting module will safeguard the collection, use and reporting of internal funds, while reducing time spent on duplicate data entry, alleviating lost receipts or accounting fraud, eliminating overdrawn accounts and improving bank reconciliations.
- Utilize customized reporting for financials, account analysis, banking, vendors, purchase orders and encumbrance. School administration software with customized reports is essential in finding the information your school needs and wants to accurately assess numbers, without having to dig through irrelevant information to get to the bottom line. Your software should allow you to export data into all types of files, including Crystal Reports, Microsoft Excel, Lotus and more, to ensure compatibility with all operating systems.
- Manage, track and distribute student and teacher textbooks from one central location with a robust textbook tracking module. Collect textbook debts, track sales and purchase histories, and record and monitor damaged inventory with one centralized program. A textbook tracking module will save your staff time and ease the fall registration process by efficiently monitoring the lifecycle of a textbook.
- Simplify donations and fee payment collection and extend your fundraising reach with an online fundraising and donations module. Raise more money by offering faculty, parents, students and community members the opportunity to contribute to your school through convenient and secure online donation tools. From class or team fundraiser webpages to automated tax-deductible receipts, donating to your school will only be a click away. Make sure your school administration software program offers broadcast e-mail tools with its online fundraising and donations module to help your school connect and re-connect with potential donors and keep them coming back to your website for more information.
- A centralized student database will protect students’ information and store data at one central location, ensuring up-to-date records, authorized access and complete control over information. Centralized data improves reporting capabilities, information access, security and oversight into financials and accounts.
- Increase school revenues using point of sale with inventory management to sell books, supplies, merchandise and other school-related items. A point of sale module will enable your staff to quickly and securely process transactions on the phone or over the counter. Your point of sale should integrate with inventory management to automatically alert staff members when stocks are running low. Access to a point of sale solution will increase your revenues through the sale of merchandise and tickets.
Most important to the features of a school administration software program is the ability to integrate each module to share information from one central location, improve oversight and control, and increase communication among faculty, staff, parents and students. Your school administration software should automate your operations to alleviate time-consuming, paper-based processes. By choosing a school software package with these seven must-have features, your staff will spend more time focusing on its most important job: educating students.
I sincerely hope this article makes your choice of a school administration software easier.
