I hurt my back when i fell off the the chair at my office?
The pain almost disappeared for few days, but last night i was just coughing and looks like i pulled a muscle! An awful pain at the same spot where i fell and its really bad pain. The pain is horrible can hardly move or walk! I went to the doctor and gave me a muscle relaxer but the pain still there, what else should i do? and is it true that muscle spasms remains for long time with u? I can’t even cough, laugh or go to the bathroom coz of the pain, could it be a broken rib? or should i just wait and see if this muscle relaxer will cure the pain? I;m really hurting now!

One of the most satisfaction, and most valuable of all home improvements is the creation of a more peaceful place to live. We all know that the world Modern is a noisy place, and doing a bit quieter than a long way.
There are many techniques for soundproofing a single room or an entire house, and which are appropriate will depend largely on the location of the house, the nature of the noise problem, and of course the owner's budget.
For new construction, one of the most effective techniques for noise correction is stagger the location of the doors so they are not directly facing each other. This will keep the sound to travel directly through the hallways and reverberating around the house. It is also a good idea to at least a quarter of each room to include some type of absorbent material, whether carpet, curtains or furniture. You can also install a carpet soundproofing on the walls and ceilings.
If the creaky noise of plants on the upper floor is the problem can be solved by adopting the roof on the ground floor and placing wooden triangular strips on the floor and one above the floor joists. In addition, the liquid adhesive can be used to keep the floor moving and cause squeaking.
Another soundproofing popular technique is using two pairs of wall studs to switch back within walls. Furthermore, the use of fiberglass installation will help to absorb sound.
For traditionally framed homes, as part of the wall and the drywall covering the noise transmitted through the wall to the other party. There are a lot of different kinds of office chairs available these days. While many offer a unique style, it’s important to choose one that will provide the proper lumbar support in order to avoid office aches and pains by the end of the day. Another thing to look for when choosing an office chair is the ability to adjust it’s height and arm height, as well as its ability to swivel and move easily around the room or cubicle because of casters.
Office chairs that swivel and have casters on the bottom are referred to as task chairs. They can accommodate many different heights and weights and are great for offices where different people may be sharing a desk or space.
Executive chairs are a higher-end option, and of course are more expensive. Although similar to task chairs in the way they can be adjusted and moved, they are a bit classier (and more comfortable), featuring additional padding and the ability to recline, unlike other less expensive models.
For those who are particularly tall or heavyset, there are bigger chairs available that resemble the executive’s chair, but provide larger seats and taller backrests in order to accommodate the needs of big and tall consumer better.
Guest chairs, which are usually placed on either sides of the desk, are not necessarily used for workers who will be sitting in them all day, but those who come into an office for a quick meeting or conference. They usually do not feature casters or wheels and are not adjustable in any way.
Choosing the best chair for your office is very important if you want to remain comfortable and pain free even after working long hours. In addition to the basic office and executive chairs listed above, there are a variety of ergonomic versions that help workers from slouching forward and pushing the lower back out unnaturally.

As a temporary office, I decorate my cube?
I just started working in the office most boring beige ever. My cube is so depressing. I'm going there almost 3 months, with the possibility of being hired permanently thereafter. Is it weird for me to make in a plant, pictures of the house, etc. to make my environment more comfortable? Regular office staff have all things in their booths, but I am not sure if a temporary employee must "move in" style.

I know that green is in these days, and I don’t mean the color, but living green as in environmentally friendly. For those of us who thought doing something good for the environment meant recycling our milk cartons, cereal boxes and tomato sauce cans and riding our bike occasionally, the extent of the “green” industry may be a bit of a surprise. Not only can you build your home to be “green”, but you can also get “green furniture”. There are even companies who use “green” modular office furniture.
As a matter of fact, Canada has a Sustainable Building Task Force that finalized groundbreaking environmental specs for modular office furniture purchased under state contract. Several modular furniture manufacturers bid on the contract, which goes to show that companies did not find the idea outlandish and many of them had used sustainable practices for decades. A three year contract, from 2001 to 2004 was awarded to a US company, with the idea to reevaluate and upgrade the contract after that time.
So what was Canada looking for in their sustainable modular office furniture? Well, among other requirements, some specifications included a high level of recycled content in components and packaging, no CFCs and HCFCs used in foam production, and energy efficient lighting in the work stations.
Modular office furniture and other items in the green building industry are rated. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) has a Green Building Rating System. This is a nationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of green buildings. According to the LEED web site:
“LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building project meets the highest green building and performance measures. All certified projects receive a LEED plaque, which is the nationally recognized symbol demonstrating that a building is environmentally responsible, profitable and a healthy place to live and work.”
LEED looks at five key areas of human and environmental health, and one of those categories is indoor environmental quality, and this includes how the building is furnished. There are more ways that your modular office furniture can be environmentally friendly that you may realize. LEED looks at the materials and resources of the furniture. This includes:
- The amount of packing material used to deliver the items to the site. Is each piece individually boxed, or is it delivered in a large truck wrapped in blankets?
- How much recycled content is in you modular office furniture?
- Is it regionally manufactured (i.e. – within 500 miles of the job site to cut down on gas transmissions)?
- Are renewable materials used in the furniture? Products made from plants that mature in 10 years or less decreases the impact on forests and longer life cycle plants.
- Are the adhesives and finishes used on the modular office furniture nontoxic? This helps to reduce harmful VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) from the office.
Many companies find that with a little effort, they can start to take steps to make their furniture more environmentally friendly. After all, the environment is not improved by one person or company doing great things, but everybody doing a little bit.
Now, you may be wondering what this type of modular office furniture looks like, after all, cubicles can already look and feel like a box! But you would be surprised. Overall, most people wouldn’t even know that your furniture is sustainably manufactured or made from partially recycled materials.
