Should I use oil or water based poly over acrylic paint? Painted old bookshelf (pressboard/veneer)…?
Know it will prob chip if used often, but making use of old furniture:) Sanded lightly for paint to ‘grab’ but now unsure which (water vs. oil based) to use to protect with acrylic. FYI: Exterior acrylic from Home depot….just used what I had on hand for color conformity at our office with juck furniture…
If you got a good quality exterior acrylic paint and just painted it..and the sheen is what you want ..it will be fine without putting anything on top of it…If it is a flat finsh, or satin finish or a finish you dont desire and need to change it..then just use a good water based poly over it ..it will be fine…if the finish is already the sheen you want..do nothing …

The correct computer posture is critical if you want to live a long, healthy and pain-free life. Bad computer posture can result in chronic pain in your neck, back, arms, legs and even your feet.
Most of us spend endless hours at our computers, day in and day out, either at work or at home on the Internet. To make matters worse, many of us use laptops. How often have you seen someone in Starbucks or at the airport hunched over their laptop? Obviously, this is far from the correct computer posture.
Bad computer posture invariably leads to forward head posture, one of the most common abnormal postures in our society. Ninety percent of the population has some degree of forward head posture. If not corrected, forward head posture can cause a host of issues including mid-back and low-back complications as well as head, neck and TMJ problems. It has been estimated to shave as many as ten years off your life.
Computer posture correction entails the proper equipment placement, the correct viewing angle and the proper typing height of your computer. This, combined with the correct keyboard posture, can significantly reduce muscular-skeletal strain in the muscles and joints of your shoulders, neck, back and arm.
Here are a few tips to help improve your computer posture:
1. Ensure that you desk and computer screen are at the correct height. You should be looking straight ahead at your screen and not down.
2. Keep your back straight. Sit in an upright, straight position at all times. Your lower back should be supported by your chair.
3. Do not slouch. This is implied by sitting up straight. Remember that slouching leads to bad posture.
4. Stretch often. Stretching will help relieve the stress in your muscles and joints and will increase your flexibility and range of motion.
5. Use an ergonomically designed, comfortable chair that promotes good posture. The chair needs to have proper back lumbar support and you need to make use of it.
6. Take a break every thirty minutes. Your spine is made for motion not sitting in a chair for prolonged periods of time. Get up and take a walk. Stretch and recharge your stiff muscles.
7. Use a posture cushion at home that is designed to reverse bad and forward head posture. Posture cushions are a passive and comfortable way to help stretch over-used muscles and strengthen the neglected muscles.
If you are feeling any kind of discomfort while working at your computer, you should definitely evaluate your computer posture. Sitting at your computer and doing the same thing over and over again creates muscle imbalance. Muscles that are used repetitively over-strengthen, while the unused muscles weaken. Your joints begin to move unevenly, causing stress, and ultimately joint breakdown. This is one of the reasons why you should take a break every thirty minutes or so.

If you are thinking about using Crest Whitening Strips I recommend you follow the instructions exactly as specified inside the box.
1. First brush teeth with a damp brush to remove the layer of plaque (toothpaste is necessary). Rinse teeth with water. Tooth enamel has pores, and pores to be open for the chemical to penetrate.
2. Use the strips as shown in the table. The instructions will tell bleaching twice a day for 30 minutes at the time. The inside of the strip has a chemical called hydrogen peroxide (in office, or dentist-assisted dental whitening uses a version of 15-35% of the same chemical) that causes staining of teeth inside that has oxidized and turn white. The application of the strips has a small learning curve as probably be doubled or a couple of times before you get the technique down.
2. Leave the strips during the time recommended in the instructions and no excess chlorine his teeth, as this leads to sensitivity.
Disadvantages
1. Hydrogen Peroxide can "burn" your gums. If you note a burning sensation when using the product, is the chemical oxidizing (or burning) of the gums (turns white with a chemical minor burns). Depending on the severity of the burn is, it can make you want to stop treatment. Okay discontinued for a day or two to allow healing of the gums. Once healed, resume treatment with white stripes. Try not to get the strip into the gums.
2. Teeth can become sensitive during the treatment time per week. Try to tolerate the sensitivity if mild, but more seriously, take a day or two for the teeth to settle down and then continue where you left off. You may notice much more sensitivity to cold water, ice, etc. The peroxide causes an inflammation of the pulp inside, center or in the nerve of the tooth and makes teeth sensitive to biting or cold drinks or food. If your teeth are too sensitive, reversing the strips until the sensitivity is has gone before resuming bleaching.
3. The strips only cover your front teeth, so only the front teeth will bleach. You may notice the clear difference between the back (unbleached) teeth and the front (bleached) teeth. Like most people notice the front 6 teeth anyway, this not a big problem. However, if you have a wide-toothed smile, you might want to have a dentist make you a tray containing the chemical on the teeth subsequent bleaching them too.
4. The bleaching effect works best on yellow stains. If your stains are due to tetracycline (brown spots gray band in the teeth, it's best to have a dentist whiten your teeth as the dentist will use a tray to hold a more concentrated form of the chemical on your teeth for a long period of time.
Crest white strips work for most people. Younger people with yellow spots seem to respond better than older or gray spots. White Stripes not work as fast as a dentist custom-made splint (or bleaching in the office), but eventually, you get a result that approximates that of a dentist, and save money too.

What constitutes contemporary furniture? After World War I, the mechanization of industry increased and technology brought drastic changes in society as a whole and this was reflected in Modern design. New construction materials were introduced during this era. Wood was no longer the sole material used for construction but materials like plywood, chrome, aluminum, and tubular steel were some of the materials that were being used in this new and innovative method of furniture construction.
Instead of intricate details, designs became sexier with curvilinear lines, unique shapes, and new materials. Now, the focus was more on form and function. The theory of less is more become much more evident. It was a furniture revolution. This era of Bauhaus school of design brought us famous designers like Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
This new furniture revolution slowed down during and immediately after the emergence of World War II. However, mid-century modern furniture emerged using new manufacturing techniques like stainless steel, wood bonding, and aluminum casting. The use of foam padding and plastics appeared during the 1950’s. Scandinavian Modern furniture designs also caused a media frenzy during the 1950’s.
