We can’t all afford to go to Las Vegas for a weekend party, but what could be more fun than recreating the glitz and glamour with your own Casino Themed party? Okay, I can think of a couple of things BUT if I were looking for a party themed that would allow me to bring excitement and a riot of colour to a party, this would be the theme for me.

In addition to family parties, the Casino theme is extremely popular for office parties, fund raisers or larger gatherings which can be held either in a rented casino, hotel or even in the office itself. Regardless of the size of your casino themed party it is possible to hire everything you need and these hire companies also offer you trained staff to ensure that the event runs smoothly allowing you to concentrate on having some fun.

Okay, assuming that you cannot afford to employ a party organiser what do you need to do to make your themed party night a success? Let’s look at a few simple ideas that will impress your guests and make sure that your Casino party theme hits the jackpot.

All parties start with the planning and therefore so should yours. The minimum you need at this stage is a budget, a date, a time, a venue and a guest list. Clearly, the most important of these is the budget. Once you have an idea of what you can afford you can decide on the venue, catering and refreshment arrangements. A clearly defined budget will also allow you to determine how much equipment you can afford to hire and the first step here is to shop around for quotes.

Having set these details we can look at one of the most overlooked aspects of a great party – that is, a great invitation. Use your invitation to build the excitement for and anticipation of, your Casino party within your guests. The snag is that, unless they are easily excited, you will need to be imaginative with your invitation deign. So let’s explore a few simple ideas;

If you have small and neat writing, you could write your invitation on a blank poker chip and then send this to your guests on the same theme you could use a cheap card dealer’s visor – readily available from your local or online fancy dress costume supplier.

Another inexpensive but creative idea would be to prepare your invitation on the computer but making sure that it was sized to be able to be cut out and stuck to the reverse side of a casino playing card and if you want even more room, use jumbo playing cards. Alternatively, use your computer’s clip-art to find the four card suits and then having printed your invitation within the suit, cut around and trim with lucky charms.

Part of the fun of a casino themed party is the costumes. Don’t forget that if you are planning your night to be a Casino Fancy Dress party, you need to include this on your invitations. There are some really great costumes that suit this theme and even more if you were to choose an individual Las Vegas Casino as the themed location. For example, if you were to chose Caesar’s Palace Hotel as the themed location you could adopt a toga costume theme, or if you chose the Hard Rock Hotel, you could all come as seventies rock stars – the idea is to pick your hotel/casino and follow their theme and co-ordinate your decoration to suit.

Having got the invitations posted and being assured for a great attendance let’s look at the types of casino games that can easily be adopted within your party theme. The easiest to arrange, and get the equipment for, would be Blackjack, Poker and Roulette all of which are relatively easily understood by a novice. From the outset you will need to make it clear that your guests are playing or fun and that in no way will you be losing the keys to your house/car/boat on the spin of a wheel or the throw of a dice!

One nice touch is to send each of your guests some pretend money (readily available from your party store or online supplier) as part of your invitation package, the idea being that they can convert this money into chips when they arrive. You could offer a small prize (or large prize if you’re loaded!) for the guest player with the most chips when the party is finished, the others can share the fake money as a token!

How do you eat without gaining weight if you are in a wheel chair?

So basically a couple weeks ago i got into a car crash and broke both my legs. “i know, messed up” please save me the comments. lol thats life.

First of all, awesome attitude!!

Secondly, Kelly’s (and the other two before me) ideas are the basics, but if you’ve lost as much as you had before, you’re already aware of what to do. The only difference is that this time you won’t be able to do anything that requires leg work, and will have to adapt your eating habits to it.

I do warn against cutting back on calories too much, or doing too much of a workout as you’ll risk that your body will pull it’s energy from the muscles in your inactive legs.

Also, it would probably be wise to pull back and just go into a simple maintenance plan and allow your body to rest. You might gain some weight, but you’ll be able to lose the fat later. Your body needs to focus on healing your legs, not on developing muscle nor reducing fat. This isn’t the time to try to lose fat, nor the time to try to gain muscle. Just let the body rest.

On the plus side, being in the wheelchair means that you’ll be able to easily maintain or at least reduce too much reduction of chest and arm muscles, and may even gain some. These will be what you’ll be using to get around (pushing the wheelchair). So for this time period, you won’t even have to do much maintenance because just moving around, or wheeling around the block, will automatically do that for you.

If you DO workout, it’s especially important now to remember to give the body the food it needs to recover quickly. Complex carbs for cardio workouts and protein + complex carbs for muscle workouts. This is essential as you don’t want your body pulling from the legs. So basically, time some of your eating around within an hour of your workouts (if you workout during this time frame).

Now’s the time when it’s essential that the foods you eat are high in nutrients per calorie. So aim for nutrient dense foods. I’m talking vitamins and mineral dense, not macronutrients. So lots of non-starchy veggies, some whole fruit (not juice), lots of fiber, fish, and if meat then lean meats simply cooked. Don’t forget the EFAs, if you don’t eat fish, then take some omega 3 or fish oil supplements each day.

During this time frame, reduce the starches as best you can. This includes many of the grain meals such as pastas, cold cereals, bread type foods, and flour based sauces.

Good luck over the next few months. And remember, the MOST important thing during this time frame is to that the body heal from the crash. Everything else can be caught up on after the healing process is done.

Identity theft has become one of the most frequently reported crimes. But, maybe you are asking yourself: What is identity theft? I am glad you asked.

Identity theft is the wrongful use of your name, birth date, social security number as well as financial records and banking information.

An identity thief obtains this information by going through your trash, or by pretending to be a bank officer, or government official, or by creating a fake web site that looks similar to your on-line banking web site, your on-line auction web site (ebay, for example), or your on-line shopping web site (yahoo shopping, for instance).

This personal information is used to secure credit cards, bank loans, or to make furniture, and/or electronic goods purchases in YOUR name.

However, when identity theft occurs, you have certain rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). In order to effectively respond to suspected identity theft you should or can:

(1) Place a fraud alert in one of the three consumer reporting agencies and that agency will notify the other two consumer reporting agencies regarding your fraud alert.

The agencies are :

* Equifax at 1-800-525-6285, or on the Internet at http://www.equifax.com

* TransUnion at 1-800-397-3742, or on the Internet at http://www.transunion.com

* Experian at 1-800-680-7289, or http://www.experian.com

(2) Obtain a copy of the identity theft report from a federal, state, or local police agency such as the FBI, State Department of Justice, or Sheriff’s office. You can find more specific information pertaining to the identity theft report at [http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft].

(3) Put an initial theft alert in your consumer report file that will be valid for 90 days.

Yet, you can place an extended alert in your consumer report file that will remain valid for 7 years – if you also provide a copy of the identity theft report.

(4) Receive -free- copies of the information in your consumer report file from each of the 3 consumer reporting agencies.

The extended alert gives you the right to receive 2 -free- copies in a 1-year period to help you remain aware of any fraudulent accounts open in your name.

(5) Obtain copies of applications and similar documents from creditors, banks, and other businesses used to open fraudulent accounts – but you must make a written request to the addresses of these businesses.

(6) Get information about debts as a result of identity theft from a debt collector. You may request the name of the creditor and the amount of the outstanding debt.

(7) Have a credit reporting agency block specific information in your consumer file that was caused by identity theft. It is important to remember that you must provide a copy of the identity theft report mentioned in item 2 above.

(8) Prevent businesses from sending identity theft transactions to a consumer reporting agency by the making a written request that includes a copy of the identity theft report.

Please note that all of your communication should be sent by certified mail with a return receipt requested in order to confirm receipt of your correspondence.
